Not allScouts/parents will be needed at the Hub. Leaders and two or threeScouts from each den should be sufficient. Leaders will beresponsible for the Scouts from your den traveling to and from theHub. Tour Permits are not required as this is a Council sponsoredevent.

NOTE: The Alameda County Food Bank is now accepting ALL fooddonations that are NON PERISHABLE. This includes canned, bottled, boxed, and paper-packaged food items (no glass). Opened containersand food items which are past their expiration date are the exceptionto this policy.

Thank You Notes
Please prepare thank you notes from your den (something verysimple is best) to be given to or left at the doorsteps of thehouseholds which donate food on pick-up day. Please include your dennumber and Pack 273. This is to show appreciation for their donationand to show that our pack is active in the community (goodadvertising for our pack).

Reminder Signs
Each year on bag pick-up day, it is always a little disappointingto see how few households donate food. My feeling is that most peopleintend to donate food, but they forget in the week that passesbetween the time the bags are dropped off and the time they're pickedup. At the last Committee meeting Katrina Grippa, Webelos Den 7Leader, made the suggestion that each den make "reminder signs" toremind people to put out their food bags on Saturday morning. Thesesigns could then be posted in each den's area a few days before bagpick-up. This would make a good den project and it might pay off in abig way. Give it a try!

Pack 273 Supplemental Food Drive
In addition to the door to door food drive, this year we areasking the members of each den to contact their extended families, neighbors and friends to donate as much food as possible to Scoutingfor Food. Den leaders, please bring this food to Cabello on Saturdaythe 20th, along with the rest of the food you collect in your area.We are trying to make this year one of the most successful fooddrives ever!
