Yes, the eyes do light up and there are lights along the beasts backbone. The car was carved from the pinewood block provided in the official kit, and uses the official wheels and axles. The underbelly was hollowed out to accommodate the lights, battery compartment and on/off switch. The car weighs in at just under 5 ounces. A truly impressive piece of work! This car won "Best of Show" at our Pack 273 1998 Pinewood Derby.
