3. Graduation Camp Out:
a. Arrival - anytime Saturday. There is a single campground where camping is permitted, near visitor entrance.b. Direction from Union City - take Hwy 84 East towards Pleasanton-Sunol. Just past Hwy 680 turn right on Calaveras Rd, go a few miles to Geary and turn left into Sunol Park. There are small signs when you get close to Pleasanton so watch for them.
c. For interesting park information check their web site at http://www.ebparks.org/parks/sunol.htm
d. Admission to Park is $4 per vehicle for parking. Reminder to families that Sunol is part of the East Bay Regional Parks District, so if you are a member parking is included with membership.
e. Games. Dave to bring a Water Rocket, please bring extra 2 L soda bottles (need 3 or 4). Other games welcome by all to share with all boys, please encourage all parents to bring lots of games.
f. Dinner - 6:00 PM, Pack Meeting 7:00 PM. Potluck, leaders please make list of items similar to Blue & Gold. Pack will provide plates, napkins, cups, and flatware.
g. All families are to provide their own drinks.
h. Breakfast - eggs and pancakes like last year. Krusteaz pancake mix, omelet fixings, and juice. Please provide Dave a count of all attendees ASAP.
i. Neckerchiefs. We have 2 wolves and a bear. We need 14 bear and 9 Webelos.
j. Campfire wood - who has some. Dave G. and Steve volunteered.
k. Den Leaders, please ask families to bring enough chairs for yourselves for campfire and pack meetings.
l. Campfire permitted but subject to change by park if fire risk is high (not likely at this time of year).

2. We will have a Roundup Membership drive in 3 schools - Alvarado, Cabello, and Pioneer (Eastin covered by Pack 263). Plan is to have notices in 2 Thursday folders in time for first Pack meeting on the 26th.

1. Summer Camp: Who's Going
- Bears, Wolves: reminder about camps and find out who's going.
- Den 5, Den 8 - deposit is required for Webelos camp that deposit is required for May. Please give deposits to Felicia ASAP.
- Dave to coordinate the dates and forms with Cheryl.
2. Raingutter Regatta
- Please ensure that all boys have boats.
- Dave ordered trophies
- Volunteers needed. A list of volunteers is being created, please ask parents for help.

3. Bridging Ceremony:
- For next year we need to give parents plenty of notice that they need to purchase a Boy Scout cap and khaki shirt for the bridging ceremony (pack provides the neckerchief).
- Possibly set up bridge ahead of time in future.
- Kudos for Gary for effective ad-libbing during bridge set-up.

1. Spring Recruitment Drive
- Should we have one?
- Yes but only for incoming Tigers and Wolves (present Kindergarten and first graders), where we have the fewest boys.
- Dave to coordinate with Steve to get flyers made up and distributed to Alvarado and Cabello Schools after getting approval from NHUSD.
2. All positions are open: Committee Chairman, Cub Master, Asst. Cub Master, Treasurer, Advancements Coordinator, Secretary, Pine Car Derby Race Master, Raingutter Regatta Marshal, Blue & Gold Chairman.
3. Graduation Camp Out:
- Dinner - Pot luck. We will also have breakfast, eggs and pancakes in a bag (boil in hot water).
- 6:00 PM Dinner; 7:00 PM Pack Meeting; 9:00 PM Night Hike.
- Felicia to order 48 mini-flashlights for hike.
- Need to know how many neckerchiefs we already have and how many more to buy.
- Come early.
- Water launchers and games available, more welcome.
- Campfire - is allowed.
4. Next Pack meeting we will discuss when to meet for next year's meeting (probably late August timeframe).

OLD BUSINESS:
1. Adult Leader applications
- 4 required for following leaders: Greg Smith, Janet Cooper, Michael Shortino, Zhori Tootski.
- New policy for next year - all parents are to help in some way in time and effort. Den leaders to ask parents for involvement.
2. Pinewood Derby Races
- What worked?
- Kids had lots of opportunities to race.
- Timers worked very well, races went quickly and no need to race again to decide winner.
- Kids had fun.
- What could we improve on?
- There was a lot of time spent in the pit stop area, at times more boys were there than at the track.
- Next year boys will be limited to one pit stop, suggest after 2 races. The race cards will be modified for a punch per pit stop.
3. Summer Camp (see Summer Camp Info)
- Webelos Woods: (sponsored by Troop 110) - Rancho Los Mochos, $15 per person, pre-registration preferred. May 17th and 18th.
- Webelos Adventure Camp: August 11th - 16th.
- Wolf and Bear Camp: July 18th - 20th.

4. Day Camp
- Webelos Day Camp: Sunol - July 7th - 11th, Garin - July 28th - Aug 1st.
- Cub Scout Day Camp - Garin - July 28th - Aug 1st (same as Webelos).

5. Fishing Derby - Sun April 27th, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Quarry Lakes in Fremont. Cost is $4.00 parking, $2.00 per Cub Scout, payable to BSA, belt loop not included). Flyer attached as bitmap at end of minutes.

NEW BUSINESS:
1. Next Pack meeting will be Bake-off. Theme of Bake-off will be "A Celebration of Sports".
- All boys to enter any cake or baked goods within the month theme.
- All items to be raffled off. There is a $5.00 fee to buy back your own item.
- Judges will be selected among the Den parents. Each Den Leader is asked to select a parent who has not been involved in events.
- There will be 6 prize categories: Most Creative, Most Colorful, Funniest, Most Realistic, Most Original, and Most Unusual.
- Price for all are children's movie tickets, Felicia to get tickets.
2. Bridging Ceremony:
- Webelos bridging to which troop? Troop 110.
- Graduation gift to Boy Scouts will be Boy Scout Handbook. There are 12 boys, Cyndi will buy.
- Arrow of Light and Bridging Ceremony - Den 1 (opening Den) to set up a bridge
3. Games - there will be no time for games during the meeting because of the bridging ceremony. But, if there's time we may do a pre-opening game of Centpede.

1. Summer Camp - Sunol Camp has been confirmed for our final pack meeting and campout on Saturday, June 14th.

3. Pinewood Derby Races
- A committee chaired by Todd Medeiros, has been formed to oversee the races. Members include Dave Guilford, Joe Berrientz, Earl Jang, David Osbourne, Zia Tootski, and David Gutierrez.
- The Pinewood Derby committee will meet on Thursday, March 13th at Dave's home.
- The pack spend $439.00 on timers for the Pinewood Derby tracks, they will be able to keep time and determine the winner.
- Dave showed punch cards that will be given to the boys with elimination rounds. Each boy will be able to race a minimum of 4 races before elimination.

- Day camp for summer was discussed. Boys would attend until 6:00 PM each day for 1 or 2 weeks possibly at Garin Park, if there is interest.
2. District summer camp catalogs should have been received, we need to recruit a Summer Camp Coordinator.

OLD BUSINESS:
1. Popcorn Sales: Report from Felicia
Financial Statement dated 12/16/02 shows $3460.00 deposited. A total of $1070 was still due as of date of this meeting, but $699 was accounted for by leaders leaving $371 still due.
2. Dues Collection: Two scouts not yet paid, Daniel Strum ($40) and Armigo boys ($70).
3. Photos: A total of $91.15 was spent on Pack photos, and $90 was collected. The rest will be framed and given as gifts.
4. PA System: The consensus was that the system worked well and the scouts enjoyed being up on stage. The lighting was poor, however. Greg will investigate getting lights and stands for future meetings to improve visibility.
5. December Pack Meeting:
a. There will be only one song for next meeting to save time.b. Sled races done at December meeting. All boys enjoyed them, will do them again at next year's December pack meeting.
c. Discussion of when to hold December 2003 pack meeting. Decided to have it on the 12th to keep from being too close to the November meeting and to allow enough time to donate tree and gifts.
6. Camp Out: June 14th scheduled. First choice is Sunol. Coyote Hills already reserved as back up. Lake Chabot is another possibility. Dave Gutierrez to let us know at next meeting if Sunol will be available to us.
7. Pack Recharter: Completed. Four new adult applications approved for total $827.00 registration fee: Greg Smith, Janet Cooper, Michael Shortino, and Zhori Tootski.
8. Treasurer's Report was distributed. The summary is shown below.

- Tickets - Yvonne, Cheryl have tickets from prior events that we can use.

- Den activity for Scouts make Indian costumes.
- It was decided to have a cut-off time of 8:05 PM to purchase raffle tickets, to keep within the agenda.
- Possible activities - Bean bag toss into Indian mouth (Yvonne), roll hula hoop (Cyndi), Nerf tomahawks (Cheryl).
February
- Blue & Gold dinner to be held. Dinner to be Pot Luck, families will be assigned a dish to bring.
- Guest list - Yvonne to provide a list of honored guests for next meeting.
- It was decided that Webelos should sit closest to serving line so they can eat first, and then serve cake and coffee.
- Serving order: Honored Guests, Webelos, then remainder of Pack.
- Duties among dens
- Randy Buck - Contact Starbucks for coffee donation, and pick up/return coffee urns.
- Dens 6 and 7 - Set up table cloths (but decoration will be done by individual Dens).
- Den 3 - make/purchase punch and ice, get serving coolers.
- Den 2 - Dessert.
- Den 5 - Plates, utensils, napkins, etc.
- Den 5 and 8 - Arrange food on serving table.
- Den 6 - Send out invitations and Thank you gifts.
- Den 5 - Rolling utensils into napkins.
- Den 8 - Make awards to honored guests (frame pictures)
- Den 1 - Type out names of each pack family on FOS forms.

- Pine Wood Derby. Need to set up a double elimination chart.
- All scouts will be able to race at least four times.

5. Popcorn Prizes. Den leaders will get preferences from scouts. Each sale of $50 earns a movie ticket or Yu-gi-oh pack (one prize for each $50 of sales attained).6. Treasurer Reports. Currently have $1677 cash plus approximately $500 in dues not yet processed. Den leaders are responsible for collecting dues from members in timely manner as agreed in first Council meeting. Suggestion made to offer members to pay all yearly fees up front to avoid monthly collection.
7. Sunday, October 13th. Hike planned for Little Yosemite Trail in Sunol Regional Park. Dens 2, 6 and 8 are in, others welcome.
8. Additional fundraiser ideas discussed. One idea was to partner with local restaurants to serve meals, with portion going to treasury. Dave G. to approach Texas Roadhouse and Pasta Pomodoro at Union City Landing.
9. Discussed issue of noise levels at pack meetings and difficulty in speaking over noise. Dave G. to investigate buying microphone and amplifier for pack meetings.
